Respawn Entertainment is currently working on three major Star Wars titles, according to EA and Lucasfilm Games. The highly anticipated next chapter in the Star Wars Jedi franchise is one of them.

It's worth noting that EA and Lucasfilm have only confirmed the game as the 'next game in the Star Wars Jedi franchise,' not as a sequel to 2019's Jedi Fallen Order.

Other projects include a new first-person shooter from Peter Hirschmann, the Game Director of Respawn's popular VR project, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. Following that is a Strategy Game from Respawn and Bit Reactor, a newly formed studio comprised of former XCOM developers.

EA and Lucasfilm Rejoin Forces to Release Three New Star Wars Games

The next Jedi franchise game is currently in development, led by Game Director Stig Asmussen. The third game is a new Strategy title that will be developed by Greg Foertsch, who has a long history in the games industry. Bit Reactor will take the initiative on this project.

"We are thrilled to continue working with Respawn's superbly talented developers," said Douglas Reilly, VP of Lucasfilm Games. "They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic StarWars stories as well as best-in-class gameplay across multiple genres, and we look forward to bringing more incredible experiences to the galaxy far, far away."

After being closed down in 2013, the gaming community was pleasantly surprised when LucasFilm Games returned to the big stage. Disney confirmed LucasFilm Games as the home of all future Star Wars games, and the announcement of these three titles appears to have rekindled their relationship with EA.

Back in the day, LucasArts and EA had a pretty fruitful relationship, with back-to-back hits like The Force Unleashed. So it is certainly cause for celebration that LucasFilm Games, in collaboration with Respawn, will now lead a new era of Star Wars games.
