First OneUI 5.0 update for Samsung

While Apple fans are enthralled by the upcoming iOS 16 software update for iPhones, Android fans are intrigued by Android 13. Google's mobile software is now official, as it was announced in February. However, for the time being, the company has restricted it to developer beta only. We anticipate that the public beta will be released sooner rather than later, most likely around the same time as the Google IO 2022 conference, which is set to take place in May of this year. Although it is unknown when all OEMs will begin rolling out the new operating system to their various smartphones, a new report appears to have a lead on when Samsung smartphone users will get their first taste of Android 13.

According to reports, Samsung will release the first-ever Android 13 software update in the form of the OneUI 5.0 beta version. According to Sammobile, this version could be available as early as July. This should give the South Korean tech company enough time to work on fixes and test Android 13 before releasing the stable version later this year.

Samsung’s Consistency With Software Updates

It's also worth noting that, according to Google's release schedule for Android 13, the software will reach platform stability around July-August. This will not give Samsung users the impression that they are falling behind in terms of rollouts and updates. Furthermore, Samsung has significantly improved the process of rolling out software and security updates. Every month, the most recent security updates are often delivered to Samsung phones first, even before Pixel models. Last year, the company was the first to bring Android 12 to its devices, nearly 30-40 days after Google first made it available to Pixel phones.

Having said that, Samsung's plans are far from certain for the time being. The company could also change the rollout timeline based on how long it takes to resolve the issues. However, if everything goes as planned, the first wave of updates should arrive in South Korea, the United States, and Europe, followed by other countries and handset models.

The Galaxy S22 variants, Galaxy Z Fold 4 (when it releases), or the Flip 4 could be the first phones to get the Android 13-based OneUI. According to the list, it should also reach the Galaxy S21, S20, A, and M series. However, according to the rumour, Samsung may release OneUI 4.1.1 for chosen foldable phones before OneUI 5.0.
