GTA 6 release date expected after 2024, According to the Rockstar leaker
A significant milestone in the development of GTA 6 has just been achieved...
A well-known leaker who has previously given details on Rockstar Games has revealed a new update regarding the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Chris Klippel of the French journal Rockstar Mag has indicated (through Twitter) that GTA 6 will not be released until beyond 2024, although he still expects that a "serious" announcement about the game will be made before the end of this year. Following Rockstar's statement in February that GTA 6 is already in "active development," it appears that additional information will be released later this year.
Looking at the developer's history for GTA release dates and new GTA announcements, we can determine that October to November is the most likely time frame. Rockstar recently announced the release of the GTA Trilogy remasters on November 11th, 2021. Aside from that, the first five mainline GTA games were all released in October.
"GTA 6 has just taken a crucial stride forward in its development. Things should move faster (internally at Rockstar) "Klippel wrote (translated via Google). "I believe a (genuine) announcement at the end of the year is possible. In any event, I don't think the game will be released before the end of 2024"
According to a Kotaku story from April 2020, GTA 6 is still in the early stages of production. With confirmation that this will take place in February 2022, a 2024 release date appears to be a safe prediction. However, it's worth mentioning that the bulk of Rockstar games have been delayed at least once, so I can see a 2024 release date being announced before a delay pushes it to 2025.
Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent firm, also divulged certain financial facts during its acquisition of mobile studio Zynga. This has led a number of observers to suspect that Rockstar is planning a major release for March 2024, with GTA 6 being the most likely culprit.
Klippel earlier stated that GTA 6 has been in "production hell" since the departure of Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser and that the game will take place over two time periods. Another leaker confirmed the existence of Star Wars Eclipse ahead of time, lending credence to the former claim.
Meanwhile, the next-generation edition of Grand Theft Auto V is now available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. Sony is also running a killer deal right now, allowing customers to get single-player and online at a very low price - I bought it myself.
