Apple recently confirmed that the iPhone 14 would be manufactured in India. The company expressed its delight at the prospect of producing the iPhone 14 in India. Only the standard iPhone 14 was said to be made in India at the time. Since the iPhone SE was assembled in India in 2017, Apple's partners in India have not assembled the Pro iPhones. More products will reportedly be manufactured in India as Apple works to reduce its reliance on China as a manufacturing hub. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, according to the most recent update, is one such new addition to Apple's supply chain in India.

Apple has not officially confirmed any details about the 14 Pro Max's production in India. An alleged retail box of the new Pro Max phone being sold in China, on the other hand, suggests that Apple not only manufactures its Pro models in the country, but also exports them to other markets.

iPhone 14 Pro Max India Assembly Could be a Huge Boost

Regardless, if the leaked image is accurate, it would be a huge boost for Apple's Indian supply partners. It was previously stated that Indian supply chain partners were untrained to assemble complex hardware. Combine that with another rumor about the Pro models not being in high enough demand to warrant production outside of China. However, with Apple's increased interest in India, supply chain partners appear to be preparing to launch more premium offerings from the brand. This year, the Pro models have also received significant upgrades over the standard models, which may attract more buyers than last year.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max would be the second smartphone in the lineup, following the iPhone 14, to be assembled locally in India within a few weeks of its release. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, priced at Rs 1,39,900, is Apple's most premium smartphone offering in India. The phone gets a new 48MP triple-camera setup, a 6.7-inch ProMotion display with up to 2000 nits of peak brightness, and dual Dynamic Island cutouts.

The Pro Max, like the 14 Pro, receives the new A16 Bionic chip. It still supports fast charging at 20W, wireless charging, and 15W MagSafe charging.

The base model in India comes with 128GB of internal storage. The 256GB storage option costs Rs 1,49,900, while the 512GB variant costs Rs 1,69,900. Those who want 1TB of storage will have to pay Rs 1,89,900. This is the most expensive iPhone storage option ever in India.

The 14 Pro Max is also the country's first Pro iPhone. At the time of writing, Apple had not confirmed any details about the Pro Max model's assembly in India.

Apple may also manufacture the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro in India. However, there is no evidence to back up the speculation. Meanwhile, according to a recent report, Apple is working with its suppliers to ensure that the AirPods and some Beats audio products are assembled in India. While there has been no official word from Apple, the Nikkei Asia report claims that the company is already in discussions with multiple supply chain partners in India.

Apple AirPods and Beats products are not currently manufactured in India. According to the report, Apple's partners will begin producing audio products as early as next year. Products manufactured in India could be exported to international markets such as Europe. The Mac and iPad lineup appears to be limited to Chinese suppliers for the time being.
