Motorola today launched its latest Moto G series smartphone in India. Today, Motorola unveiled the Moto G42 budget phone. The device was first launched in the international market in June, alongside the Moto G62 5G.
The G42 is the latest addition to the G series and features an AMOLED display as well as a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, making it a good contender for the budget entertainment device. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon SoC and costs less than Rs 15,000. Let's take a closer look at the device's specifications.

The Moto G42 is only available in one configuration. The 4GB+64GB variant costs Rs 13,999 and is available in Atlantic Green and Metallic Rose. The Moto G42 comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with DCI-P3 colour space, SGS Blue Eye protection, 700 nits of brightness, and a regular 60Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 SoC that is manufactured on a 6nm process. The phone has a single RAM and storage configuration, with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB uMCP storage. In addition, the phone accepts microSD cards.

In terms of cameras, the Moto G42 has a triple rear camera setup. A 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle + depth lens, and a depth 2MP macro snapper are included. The phone has a 16MP selfie camera on the front, which is housed inside the punch-hole cutout.
The 5,000mAh battery powers the device, and a Type-C port supports 20W Turbo charging. In terms of software, it runs Android 12 and is guaranteed to receive Android 13 as well as three years of security updates. The handset includes a fingerprint scanner on the side for added security.
