Nothing Phone (1) launch event is slated to be hosted on July 12. Nothing has teased the device's rear panel design ahead of the company's global launch of its first smartphone. The rear panel design of the smartphone was revealed yesterday, emphasising the translucent casing. Nothing also held an in-person event in Switzerland for select media to promote the Phone (1).

A video posted by YouTuber Rafael Zeier shows the Nothing smartphone enclosed in a clear glass enclosure. It also shows some of the phone's unique design characteristics, such as components that glow and light up. Let's have a look at the Nothing Phone (1) design, specifications, and other information that is currently available.

Nothing Phone (1) Display Specifications Leaked; Launch...

Nothing Phone (1) Design Showcased

On July 12, Nothing Phone (1) will be launched worldwide. The company showcased the device's design in Switzerland ahead of its introduction. Zeier's video shows the phone's back panel, which has previously been disclosed by the company in official renders.

The flashing LEDs that flared up in particular spots at the back of the device are a crucial new design component displayed in the video. The lights are surrounding the camera module, at the top right corner and at the bottom.

It is unknown what causes these lights to illuminate. One possible assumption is that these are notification lights that illuminate anytime you receive a message, call, or other notice.

Many smartphones have already offered such a capability. Some smartphones make use of the display's edges, while others use dedicated hardware. When a user receives a notice, devices such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra illuminate the display's edges. Oppo, on the other hand, released the Reno 7 and F21 Pro series in India with its Orbit Light, which illuminates the ring around the camera sensor when a notification is received.

Nothing Launcher (Beta) is now available for all Android...

It will be fascinating to see if Nothing allows users to modify the colour of the lights, as some of its competitors do. We'll have to wait for an official word to acquire confirmation.

The Phone (1) will premiere on July 12. It will include a Snapdragon CPU, and wireless charging capability, and will ship with Android 12-based Nothing OS. The device's specifications have also been released. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
