Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of a new Redmi K-series smartphone. The company had previously confirmed the release of a new Redmi K50 series smartphone with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. According to reports, the Redmi K50S series will launch with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset. However, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition will be launched with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
The device will make its debut in China later this month. Xiaomi has not confirmed any details about the K50 Extreme Edition's global launch. While we wait for more information, here's a rundown of everything we know about the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition.

The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition will be the K50 series' fourth smartphone. The device will be the first in the series to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Other details about the upcoming smartphone have not been confirmed by Xiaomi.

The K50S series is expected to include two devices - the K50S and K50S Pro - that will be launched globally as part of the Xiaomi 12T series. We can expect the phones to share the majority of their specifications. The K50 Extreme Edition may have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will most likely ship with a 4,700mAh battery and either 67W or 120W fast charging.
If the K50 Extreme Edition is the rumored K50S Pro, the back will almost certainly feature a 200MP HP1 main camera. There will be an 8MP ultrawide camera as well as a 2MP macro camera. Redmi is expected to release a base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A 12GB + 256GB storage option will also be available.
