Redmi K50 Series

We first heard about the Redmi K50, which will have an in-display fingerprint scanner in 2022, and last month, it was confirmed that the phone will have multiple variants, including a Redmi K50 Gaming Edition with MediaTek's Dimensity 9000 chipset.

And now, with the release of the official Redmi K50 teaser, some of these have been confirmed. Abhishek Yadav, a popular tipper, shared the teaser on Twitter, along with the information he has personally confirmed. According to Abhishek, the teaser mentions Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, whereas the Dimensity 9000 appears to be an option for the Redmi K50.

Redmi K50 may have multiple variants

The Reddmi K50 Series, according to the tip, will have Dimensity 9000, despite the teaser mentioning Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. As a result, it appears that there are at least two confirmed variants of the phone. Aside from that, the teaser confirms the presence of a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast charging. The teaser also mentions 'dual VC liquid cooling,' implying that the phone may have two vapour chambers to provide a better cooling solution.

As of now, two variants can be confirmed: one with MediaTek's Dimensity 9000 and another with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The possibility of a third variant cannot be ruled out.

According to previous reports, the Redmi K50 with Dimensity 9000 would have a 120Hz or 144Hz LTPO OLED display. According to the report, the phone will also have an optical under-display fingerprint scanner and a quad rear camera setup.

There isn't much information available about the phone's camera.

The primary camera sensor on the Redmi K50 Series could be a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 or Samsung ISOCELL GW3, with one variant also featuring a 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor. Aside from that, not much is known about the phones, and until all variants are confirmed, the camera specifications are a little jumbled.

However, we anticipate that more information about the Redmi K50 will begin to emerge soon ahead of its official launch, as Xiaomi has already begun teasing the phone on social media in China. As of now, we expect three variants: the base model, the K50 Pro 5G, and the K50 Pro Plus 5G.
