According to South Korea's Korea IT News, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will use a massive 200MP sensor as its primary camera. It will only be available in the Ultra variant, replacing the current-generation 108MP, which has been in use for two generations and debuted with the S20 Ultra.
According to the report, Samsung has reportedly asked its major camera partners about its decision to commission a 200MP sensor on the upcoming Ultra model. It includes Samsung Electronics and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, which are the company's only wings capable of producing 200MP cameras for smartphones. What's interesting is that the 200MP camera sensor could make its way down to lower-end Samsung smartphones as well, though there's no timeline for this yet.
