Tata Play Secure, Secure+ Home Security Service Launched, and Other Features
The Tata Play Secure Plus plan will include a one-time fee for the Google Nest Cam as well as an annual subscription fee.

Tata Play has announced the launch of Tata Play Secure Plus home security service plans under its umbrella. Tata Play will provide users with a connected home security camera, a smart speaker, and a service plan that includes video recording durations and other features. The plans also bring the Google Nest Cam security camera to the Indian market for the first time, and users can now subscribe to Google's Nest Aware security subscription plans through Tata's offerings in India.

What Does Tata Play Secure Offer?
Buyers who select the Tata Play Secure Plus plan will receive a battery-powered Google Nest Cam security camera for Rs 11,999, a free Google Nest Mini (2nd gen) smart speaker, and access to Nest Aware security subscription plans. The latter is available in two tiers – Basic and Plus – and according to the Tata Play Secure Plus support page, users can access either depending on their needs.
The Nest Aware Basic plan includes 30 days of video recording history, familiar face recognition, people or animal alerts, and doorbell alerts with two-way door communication. Users can also upgrade to Nest Aware Plus, which includes 10 days of continuous 24x7 video recording, up to 60 days of recording history, and low-light recording.

However, the Tata Play Secure Plus plan currently only shows pricing for the Nest Aware Basic plan in India, and does not offer a customisation option to choose the 'Plus' tier plan – despite stating that the latter is supported. Google already claims on-device data processing and compliance with global data protection regulations for the Nest Cam footage in terms of safety and privacy.
The standard Secure Plus plan with Nest Aware Basic will cost users Rs 3,000 per year, while upgrading to Nest Aware Plus will cost users Rs 5,000 per year, according to Tata Play. The plan is currently being implemented in ten cities: Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi NCR, Lucknow, and Jaipur. Tata will also provide customer care and after-sales services, and the plans will be available for purchase beginning today.
