CES 2022 feels a little like Christmas for gamers: some of the best gaming laptops have been upgraded, and there are some brand new toys to look forward to. Toys such as the ASUS ROG Flow Z13, a tablet made specifically for gamers.

Because Windows-powered gaming tablets are uncommon, we believe ASUS is correct when it claims this is the world's most powerful gaming tablet. It comes with a 12th-generation Core i9 processor, an RTX 3050 Ti GPU, up to 16GB of DDR5-5200 RAM, and up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Although the RTX runs hot, ASUS claims that the tablet form factor is better for cooling than traditional laptops, allowing the cooling system to blow air more efficiently. Thunderbolt 4 is supported, as is DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-PD, as well as a second USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. What is the cost? That is something we do not yet know.

ASUS's best gaming laptops in 2022 will have even more spectacular displays, in addition to the usual performance improvements. The ROG Zephyrus G14's new Nebula display has a 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of peak brightness, 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and a 3ms response time; it also has Dolby Vision, Adaptive Sync, and Pantone validation.

The ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 also has a Nebula display, but it's a Nebula HDR display with 512 mini-LED dimming zones and 1,100 nits of peak brightness. The refresh rate on the 16:10 panel is 165Hz.

However, that is not the only option. You can also order a Dual Spec panel, which can switch between 120Hz 4K and 240Hz Full HD, allowing you to prioritize resolution or frame rate game by game or app by app.

Given that the previous ROG Zephyrus G14 tops our list of the best gaming laptops, the spec bumps and new displays on ASUS's 2022 gaming laptops have us very excited. The ROG Zephyrus, as well as the Duo G15, have an RRP of £1,699.99, and the Zephyrus M16 has an RRP of £1,899.99. The M16 will be available in February, and the G series will be available in March/April.
