Vivo plans to release a new foldable device in the coming weeks. A few weeks ago, the upcoming Vivo foldable smartphone was discovered on Geekbench, 3C Certification, and other sites. The upcoming device has now been spotted on Google Play's Supported Devices List, revealing the model number as well as confirming the device's moniker.

The Vivo X Fold+ will be the name of the upcoming Vivo foldable with the V2229A model number. This is the same model number that we've seen on several certifications in recent weeks. While we expected the device to be called the Vivo X Fold S, the Google Play Supported Devices List confirms that it will be called the Vivo X Fold+. Let's go over the specifics.

Vivo X Fold+ Moniker Confirmed, Expected Specifications

The Vivo X Fold+, along with other Vivo phones such as the Vivo X Note and Vivo X Note, has been added to the Google Play Supported Devices List with the model number V2229A. Apart from the confirmation of the moniker, the website does not reveal much. However, because a device with the same model number was previously spotted, we do know some of the specifications.

According to Geekbench, the upcoming Vivo X Fold S will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which will have four cores running at 2.02GHz, three at 2.75GHz, and one prime core running at 3.19GHz. This SoC comes with an Adreno 730 GPU.

Furthermore, the listing indicates that the phone will have 12GB of RAM. In addition, we can anticipate Vivo launching multiple RAM and storage options for the device. In terms of software, the phone is said to ship with Android 12.

According to Digital Chat Station, the foldable phone from Vivo will have a quad-camera setup on the back. A 50MP primary camera sensor, a 12MP portrait camera sensor with 2x zoom, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP periscope camera will be included in the camera setup.

The foldable phone will also have a front-facing camera with a resolution of 16MP. A 4700 mAh battery with 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support, a 120Hz 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED display on the outside, and a 120Hz 8.03-inch foldable screen is also expected. The X Fold was released earlier this year, and the X Fold+ is expected to arrive soon.
