Xiaomi India teased the release of a tablet just before April Fool's Day. On April 1, the company launched the ConfiBOOST tablet marketing campaign. Based on these activities, there have been rumours that Xiaomi will unveil an Android tablet alongside the Xiaomi 12 Pro at the upcoming event. According to 91mobiles, in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar, the Xiaomi Pad 5 will finally make its debut in the Indian market on April 27.

In India, the Xiaomi Pad 5 will mark the company's return to the Android tablet market. For those who are unaware, the brand released the Mi Pad in 2015, which was powered by an NVIDIA Tegra processor. The original Mi Pad was well-liked in the country due to the excellent price-to-performance ratio it provided.

The Mi Pad 5 has an 11-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2560 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, HDR 10, and Dolby Vision. The tablet is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor and an Adreno 640 GPU.
The Mi Pad 5 is powered by an 8,720mAh battery and supports fast charging at 22.5W. It has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. It weighs 511g and has dimensions of 254.69 166.25mm 6.85mm. The tablet has a Type-C charging port that also serves as an audio output port. The Mi Pad 5 also includes quad speakers with Dolby Atmos audio.
The Mi Pad 5 is priced at RMB 1,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, which is roughly Rs 23,000 in India. It'll be interesting to see how Xiaomi prices its upcoming tablet in India.
