Fortnite on an iPhone

Yes, Fortnite fans, you'll be able to return to the world of Fortnite on your Apple devices very soon. Everything seemed hopeless in September 2021, but everything will change in the coming weeks, but not in the way you might think.

Fortnite will not be available in the Apple App Store. Users will instead be able to access Nvidia's GeForce NOW cloud platform via their Safari browser. Nvidia announced the cloud gaming platform in November 2020, with a library of games that includes Fortnite. Despite the fact that it is browser-based, the platform has been optimized for mobile gaming and should provide the same level of performance as the app did previously.

GeForce NOW currently displays a waitlist for access to Fortnite Chapter 3's limited-time closed beta. A paid GeForce NOW membership is not required for the beta, and it is unclear whether any payment will be required once the game is fully released.

The basic GeForce membership is currently free but limited to one-hour sessions. Priority GeForce membership costs $9.99 per month or $49.99 for six months and includes six-hour sessions and access to premium servers. The most expensive package costs $99.99 for six months.

This may be a small price to pay for iPhone users who have been unable to play Fortnite on their devices for months. I'm sure Nvidia will put its servers through rigorous testing during the beta to ensure they can handle the potential demand.
