We've already heard rumours that Apple will reduce the size of its notch on the iPhone display, increasing the overall screen-to-body ratio. Instead of a thick notch, the company is widely expected to introduce a pill and a hole cut out on the screen on its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. Naturally, one would expect the company to reduce the area containing the sensors and selfie camera even further in the coming years. Building on that, a well-known analyst has predicted a launch date for the 'iPhone 16' with true full-screen support.

‘Real Full-Screen’ iPhone May Launch in 2024

In his most recent tweet, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that an iPhone with no cutouts and a 'true full-screen will be available sooner rather than later. The release of such an iPhone is scheduled for 2024, which is two years from now. According to iPhone naming conventions, the iPhone 16 series could arrive in 2024.

He goes on to say that iPhones that year will feature under-display Face ID, which will completely conceal all sensors and the camera, giving users a true full-screen experience. Although Kuo predicted earlier this month that under-display camera technology would arrive in 2024, he now adds that the same technology could lead to a full-screen iPhone. It is unlikely, however, that all four iPhone 16 models will have this feature by 2024. Kuo specifically mentions 'high-end iPhones' receiving these. This could also imply that the feature will only be available on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Furthermore, Kuo claims that the low-light situation may impair the quality of the front camera. This means that the camera's quality improvement could be heavily reliant on the ISP and algorithms.

Apple iPhone 14 Could Have a Punch Hole Camera Display

Surprisingly, the full-screen iPhone 16 in 2024 could also be entirely portless. According to a recent report by the iDrop News website, a portless iPhone could be available in a couple of years, or around the same 2024 year. The company has already been promoting the Apple Watch, AirPods, and MagSafe charging, all of which promote wireless reliability.
