Best Gaming Phone in The World 2023
Improve your mobile gaming experience with the best gaming phones listed below. These are the phones to consider first if you want game-specific features or just a lot of computing power.

Aside from a powerful chipset, there are several other factors to consider when purchasing a gaming phone. A great display to enjoy a game's graphics at their best, a high refresh rate display to keep things smooth, long battery life, or even unique features like trigger buttons or a fan for extra cooling are all likely. We went looking for phones that offered some or all of these features, and we found some great devices to include in this guide.

Companies such as Razer and Asus — names that gamers are likely very familiar with — have contributed their expertise in the field to produce purpose-built, gaming-focused handsets. However, with their class-leading specs, recent flagships from Samsung, OnePlus, and even Apple are ideal for demanding titles.

Speaking of Apple, the iPhone 13 series has surprised us all by outperforming dedicated gaming phones in terms of gaming performance. Apple's continued dominance in chipset power (thanks to the A15 Bionic) and the new 120Hz adaptive refresh rate displays on the two Pro models are the primary reasons for this. This was the missing piece of the puzzle for older iPhones, so the iPhone 13 Pro Max now sits atop this ranking.

Of course, there are many Android phones that are comparable. If you want a phone designed specifically for gaming, we recommend the Asus ROG Phone 5. Consider the OnePlus 10 Pro, Google Pixel 6 Pro, or Galaxy S22 Plus for an all-around top handset that also excels at gaming. Consider the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which Roland Moore-Colyer considers to be one of the best stealthy gaming phones available right now.

If you're serious about mobile gaming and don't want to settle for anything less than the highest frame rates, crispest graphics, and longest battery life, the Asus ROG Phone 5 is the best of the best.

The ROG Phone 5's screen is near flawless, sporting a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate up to a maximum of 144Hz. It can handle any game you throw at it thanks to a powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset and up to 16GB RAM. There's also a large 6,000 mAh battery with 65W charging that allows you to play for extended periods of time without having to stop to recharge.

However, the emphasis on gaming is both a blessing and a curse. It entails having customizable RGB lights on the back, virtual trigger buttons on the side, and some powerful stereo speakers, all of which contribute to the overall experience. However, the phone's lackluster cameras and lack of wireless charging mean it lacks some important versatility. Furthermore, the loud design may not be to your liking.

If that isn't enough power for you, the limited edition Asus ROG Phone 5 Ultimate comes with more RAM and storage. However, for most users who prioritize gaming above all else, the standard ROG Phone 5 is the phone to choose from, This is The First of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

The RedMagic 7 is currently one of the most affordable routes to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor on the market, earning it a spot on this list of the best gaming phones. For $629, you can get a device with a high-end chipset, up to 18GB of RAM, and a gaming-friendly 6.8-inch 165Hz AMOLED display with a flat design and slim bezels. A fan inside also ensures that the device can run demanding titles optimally, which is critical if you're gaming for extended periods of time.

Of course, if great software or camera performance is important to you, the RedMagic 7 isn't the best choice — there are more well-rounded handsets available. However, they are all more expensive, so those who prioritize gaming and the power required to do so but have a limited budget should think about it.

There's also the option to go all out with the RedMagic 7 Pro. It has even better performance and cooling than this model, as well as an under-display selfie camera for uninterrupted gaming, which is possibly the best thing it does. However, due to lower battery life, a lower refresh rate, and some of the same existing flaws, we're sticking with the basic RM 7, This is The Second of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

The latest iPhone 13 Pro Max from Apple is simply the best gaming phone money can buy. Even the best Android phones can't compete with the latest big iPhone. This phone can handle any mobile game out there and then some, thanks to the extremely powerful A15 Bionic chip, 120Hz display, and vastly improved battery life.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is not only the best gaming phone, but it is also the best phone you can buy period. It has excellent cameras, a stunning 6.7-inch OLED display, and a slew of features that make it a joy to use in everyday situations. It also has a storage capacity of up to 1TB, so you'll never run out of room for the best iOS games.

Unfortunately, the App Store does not permit gaming emulators, so those looking to play classic games may be out of luck. However, some of the most popular SNES and PS2 titles have been ported to the iPhone.

Surprisingly, overseas esports players prefer to train and play games like PUBG Mobile and Garena FreeFire on iPhone. This is due to the efficiency of Apple's chips, which allows for less heat dissipation, resulting in a more comfortable gaming experience during long sessions.

However, if you prefer a smaller phone (and save $100), the iPhone 13 Pro is just as good as the Pro Max. Some games, however, may be difficult to play on the smaller 6.1-inch display, This is The Third of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is a good choice if you want a well-rounded Android phone that can also play flagship games.

The S22 Plus, like all of this year's top flagships, has a 120Hz panel and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It may only have 8GB of RAM, but that isn't a hindrance. It remains fast in every sense of the word. Furthermore, its 5G support extends to millimeter-wave networks as well as sub-6GHz networks, allowing for the fastest data speeds on the planet when gaming online away from home.

Although it does support Xbox Game Pass, the Galaxy S22 Plus doesn't offer much in the way of dedicated gaming features — it's just an all-around great (and, unfortunately, a little pricey) flagship device that also happens to be one of the best gaming phones, This is The 4 of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

+

REASONS TO AVOID

-
Short battery life
-
Heavy and bulky
-
Very expensive

If you have a lot of money to burn, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 could be the best gaming phone of all time. None of the other phones on this list can compete with the Z Fold 3's massive 7.6-inch display, which, combined with the newly introduced S Pen stylus compatibility, makes this phone uniquely immersive and practical. Of course, if you're short on space, there's always the small exterior display, which has the same 120Hz refresh rate as the inside for smooth frame rates.

Of course, there are both literal and metaphorical costs to this. This is by far the most expensive phone on this list, as well as the heaviest and chunkiest, especially when folded up. It also has a pretty short battery life, which isn't ideal if you want to play a long multiplayer session. This isn't a phone to buy on the spur of the moment, but it could suit you well if you won't settle for anything less than the best display, This is 5 of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

Top performance among Android phones

REASONS TO AVOID

-
No AT&T 5G

The top-performing Android phones these days are powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system-on-chip, and the OnePlus 10 Pro is no exception. As a result, even the most demanding games run smoothly on this device.

Gamers will also appreciate the phone's 6.7-inch display's 120Hz refresh rate, as well as its long battery life — nearly 12 hours even with the adaptive refresh rate enabled. The OnePlus 10 Pro's price is perhaps its most appealing feature. While other flagships cost around $1,000, the OnePlus 10 Pro costs $899. It's difficult to find a top-tier phone with so many premium features at that price, This is 6 of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

REASONS TO BUY

+
144Hz refresh rate
+
The processor can match any leading Android phone

REASONS TO AVOID

-
Subpar battery life
-
No telephoto lens

Motorola's latest flagship model has some flaws, but it delivers on the gaming front. The 144Hz refresh rate is above average for Android phones, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, paired with 8GB or 12GB RAM, means you won't be disappointed in terms of performance.

The main issue you'll have with gaming is the Edge Plus's poor battery life. You should keep a plug on hand for any gaming marathons you're planning. Fortunately, the included 30W charger gets you back up and running quickly, and unless you're particularly bothered by the lack of a telephoto camera or a glass back panel, it's a good compromise between expensive well-rounded regular flagship phones and cheaper dedicated gaming smartphones, This is 7 of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

You might not expect a Google phone to appear on a list of the best gaming phones, but Google delivered with the Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel 6 Pro is an excellent choice for your next gaming phone due to its excellent display and surprisingly good performance from the new Tensor chip.

But that isn't all. Not only does the Pixel 6 Pro perform well in games and benchmarks, but it also performs well as a phone. It may lack some of the flashy features found on other gaming phones, but it has one of the best cameras available on an Android phone. After all, you probably want your phone to be good at other things as well.

If we had to pick one complaint about the Pixel 6 Pro, it would be the battery life. While the battery is certainly large enough to last for hours, the phone performed poorly in our battery life testing. However, the phone performs admirably in our daily lives, even with demanding games and Xbox Game Pass, This is 8 of the Best Gaming Phone under 20000.

How to Choose The Best Gaming Phone in The World For You

Choosing the best gaming phone is a matter of priority, just like everything else. If you want the best performance — and you probably do if you're reading this — look for a phone with a Snapdragon 8-series chipset or Apple's A15 Bionic. The Snapdragon is highlighted because Qualcomm's best silicon for Android phones is available in devices from a variety of manufacturers.

But what about frequent refresh rates? That's something you'll only find on the more expensive end of the market, though it's a feature that will undoubtedly make its way to more affordable phones in the future. Panels with a refresh rate of 90Hz or higher provide smoother scrolling and overall graphics than conventional screens, giving you the impression that every swipe, tap, and action is eliciting a response with no delay. Higher refresh rates will ensure you don't miss any of the action if you're a serious competitive gamer.

Of course, the more a device is geared toward gaming with the appropriate features, the less attention phone makers pay to other factors. While the battery life is important in gaming (because games consume a lot of power), you'll have a more difficult time finding gaming phones with excellent camera hardware and software, or perhaps conveniences like wireless charging and water resistance. If those factors are important to you, you should narrow your search to the more powerful handsets on this list that aren't specifically designed for gaming but can still hold their own, such as the OnePlus 10 Pro, Galaxy S22 Plus, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

How We Test Gaming Phones

Best Gaming Phone under 20000: Best Gaming Phone in The World

A smartphone must excel on several tests that we run on every handset in order to make any of our best phone lists — gaming phone or otherwise. Some of these tests are carried out in our labs, while others are carried out in the field.

When it comes to graphics performance, we rely on synthetic benchmarks such as Geekbench 5 and GFXBench. These tests allow us to compare iPhone and Android device performance. We also time a real-world video transcoding test on each phone using the Adobe Premiere Rush app.

Also Read: Best Wireless Chargers 2023: Best Wireless Chargers for...

To assess the display quality of a phone, we conduct lab tests to determine the brightness of the panel (in nits) as well as the colour saturation of each screen (DCI-P3 colour gamut). In these cases, larger numbers are preferable. We also use a Delta-E rating to assess the colour accuracy of each panel, with lower numbers being better and a score of 0 being perfect.

The Tom's Guide battery test is one of the most important tests we perform. We run a web browsing test over 5G or 4G with a screen brightness of 150 nits until the battery dies. A phone that lasts 10 hours or more is considered good, and anything that lasts longer than 11 hours makes our list of the best phone battery life.
